El proyecto SMARTER es un proyecto financiado por el programa Horizon 2020 de la Unión Europea (n°772787), en el que participan 13 países y más de 20 instituciones de investigación y transferencia de tecnología, con el objetivo de mejorar la resiliencia y la eficiencia en ovinos y caprinos en base, principalmente, a herramientas genéticas. Uruguay, único país sudamericano en el proyecto, participa desde 2018 a través de la investigación para implementar nuevos programas de mejor genética en ovinos. |

Pear (Pyrus communis) has good adaptation in Southern Uruguay, but climatic factors not always reach desirable values for a satisfactory production.
