The objective of this study was to determine to what extent the inclusion of medium and high tannin content legumes in NG affects the excretion of N in feces and urine
of beef heifers compared to NG without legumes. The experiment was carried out at the Research and Experimental Center Dr. A. Gallinal (CIEDAG-SUL), Uruguay,
from 20/10/21 to 22/11/21. |

Recent field research in Uruguay has revealed K deficiencies in the main field crops of the country. A preliminary survey
indicates that almost 5 M ha would be deficient in K. A critical soil test K (STK) level of 0.34 meq/100g (133 ppm) has
been estimated based on 50 field trials conducted on the six primary field crops. |
