El sector arrocero uruguayo ha sido de los sectores más exitosos e integrados en el país. El rendimiento de arroz en Uruguay ha aumentado a una de las tasas anuales más altas del mundo. Debido a los altos costos de los insumos y los bajos precios del arroz, mantener la tendencia de los rendimientos del arroz es fundamental para la viabilidad y sostenibilidad del cultivo en Uruguay. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron: analizar las tendencias actuales del rendimiento del arroz y comparar el potencial de rendimiento del arroz (Rp) estimado, el rendimiento actual registrado (Ra), la brecha de rendimiento (Br) y producción relativa (Pr) de Uruguay, con otros países productores de arroz que han sido incluidos recientemente en el Global Yield Gap Atlas (GYGA, www.yieldgap.org). |
