The Ninth International Ruminant Reproduction Symposium (9th IRRS) was held in Obihiro City, Hokkaido, Japan in August 2014. The symposium emphasized the most current knowledge and state-of-the-art information on topics relevant mainly to domestic ruminants. Also, it was recognised that ruminant reproduction directly connects to livestock production worldwide; therefore, sessions were included such as “Pathophysiology and Health in Reproduction,” and “Challenges in Optimization of Reproductive Performance”.
This volume contains the proceedings of 35 scientific presentations that were made over 14 conference sessions. The 35 invited speakers were selected by the Program Committee that consisted of world-leading experts of each scientific area. The final program included sessions on: Phylogenetics; Genome, Proteomics, Metabolomics; Preimplantation; Neuroendocrinology; Peri-implantation; Challenges in Optimization of Reproductive Performance; Male Function and Spermatogenesis; Oocyte and Follicle; Corpus Luteum; Placentation and Parturition; Pathophysiology and Health; Emerging Reproductive Technology; and Applied Reproductive Technology: Up-date. |

En el año 2008 el Programa Forestal del INIA incorpora un nuevo proyecto de investigación denominado Biología y epidemiología de las plagas y enfermedades prioritarias para el sector forestal. En este marco, y en colaboración con la Facultad de Agronomía, comienza a ejecutarse el proyecto Cuantificación de la importancia de las plagas y enfermedades foliares que afectan plantaciones jóvenes de Eucalyptus. El proyecto está orientado a generar información que permita identificar los principales problemas sanitarios, conocer cuál es su distribución geográfica y cómo evolucionan en el tiempo, cuantificar el nivel de daño causado por cada problema y estudiar su posible relación con factores ambientales y/o genéticos. La primera campaña de relevamiento sanitario se realizó en la primavera de 2008 en plantaciones de E. globulus, de aproximadamente un año de edad, en las regiones Sureste y Litoral Oeste16. En otoño de 2009 se realizó el segundo relevamiento sanitario, en plantaciones de entre 5 y 7 meses de edad. En la región Sureste se relevaron plantaciones de E. globulus, mientras que en el Litoral se relevaron plantaciones de E. globulus y E. dunnii. Se presentan en este trabajo los resultados obtenidos en este último relevamiento. |
