ABSTRACT. - The VIII Latin American Meeting Prunus without Borders was held from November 6th to 8th, 2019 at INIALas Brujas, Rincón del Colorado, Canelones, Uruguay. This meeting was organized by the Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria (INIA) of Uruguay and with the support of the Ministerio de Ganadería, Agricultura y Pesca (MGAP), Dirección General de la Granja (DIGEGRA) and the local authorities: Departmental Government of Canelones. Several national companies supported the meeting, such as RMoizo, Proquimur, DM Agro, Cibeles, UDE- School of Agricultural Sciences, Puro Jugo, Natural Tree and Jumecal. The objective of this meeting is to promote the development and cultivation of Prunus, seeking the sustainable and competitive development of pro-duction in Latin America.

RESUMEN. - El VIII Encuentro Latinoamericano Prunus sin Fron-teras tuvo lugar del 6 al 8 de noviembre de 2019 en INIA Las Brujas, Rincón del Colorado, Canelones, Uruguay. Esta reunión fue organizada por el Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria (INIA) de Uruguay con el apoyo del Ministerio de Ganadería, Agricultura y Pesca (MGAP), Dirección General de la Granja (DIGEGRA) y las autoridades locales: Gobierno Departamental de Canelones. Varias empresas nacionales apoyaron la reunión, como RMoizo, Proquimur, DM Agro, Cibeles, Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias, Puro Jugo, Natural Tree y Jumecal. El objetivo de esta reunión es promo-ver el desarrollo y el cultivo de Prunus, buscando el impulso sostenible y competitivo de la producción en América Latina.

RESUMO. - O VIII Encontro Latino-Americano Prunus sem Fronteiras ocorreu de 6 a 8 de novembro de 2019 no INIA Las Brujas, Rincón del Colorado, Canelones, Uruguai. Esta reunião foi organizada pelo Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria (INIA) do Uruguai e com o apoio do Ministerio de Ganadería, Agricultura y Pesca (MGAP), Dirección General de la Granja (DIGEGRA) e autoridades locais: Governo Departamental de Canelones. Várias empresas nacionais apoiaram o encontro, como RMoizo, Proquimur, DM Agro, Cibeles, Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias, Puro Jugo, Natural Tree e Jumecal. O objetivo deste encontro é promover o desenvolvi-mento e o cultivo dos Prunus, buscando o desen-volvimento sustentável e competitivo da produção na América Latina.
